On 30 June 2017, GCRL Segretary Matteo Angioli, UN Radical Party representative Laura Harth, former MPs Maurizio Turco and Maria Antonietta Farina, Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP) members Sam Rainsy and Saumura Tioulong, Que Me Action for Democracy in Vietnam representatives Penelope Faulkner and Vo Tran Nhat met in the French Senate to discuss the next steps of the common endeavour for the transition towards the rule of law through the affirmation of the right to know. The meeting followed the conference hosted by Sen. André Gattolin on 7 June.
In addition, in order to consolidate the campaign for the rule of law and the right to know as well as to attain 3000 new members of the Radical Party by the end of 2017, in the first year after Marco Pannella’s passing, all participants in the reunion decided to join the Nonviolent Radical Party transnational transparty (NRPTT). Importantly, also 66 MPs of the main opposition party, 55 Representatives and 11 Senators, joined NRPTT. Among them, former MP exiled in Paris Sam Rainsy, author of the announcement of this important collective decision.
