The cyber threat and European elections

Internet interference in the political debate and in the formation of consensus by “external actors” in America and in the European Union have exponentially increased in the last four years. The phenomenon has been the subject of preventive measures, deterrence and conflict in the United States and in several countries of the European Union. It undermines the very foundations of representative democracy based on free information. The facts are serious and they have been fully documented for years. It is a reality involving not only “social media” and intelligence services. It concerns public information, blogs and traditional media as well. In this way, prerequisites on which all the electoral consultations are based are subverted.
