UNPO endorses the campaign for the recognition of the right to know

On 26-28 June 2017 the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organisation (UNPO) held its XIII General Assembly in Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. The event took place in the Scottish Parliament at Holyrood and at the University of Edinburgh. A total of twenty-four Members’ delegations from different continents participated in the meeting.

Willie Rennie MSP hosted the Opening of UNPO’s XIII General Assembly and in the discussion partook UNPO’s Secretary General Marino Busdachin, UNPO President Nasser Boladai; Dr Josep-Maria Terricabras MEP, United Nations representative of the Nonviolent Radical Party Laura Harth and Secretary of the Global Committee for the Rule of Law “Marco Pannella” Matteo Angioli.

We are grateful to UNPO for adopting a general motion establishing on point 10 that:

“ endorses the international campaign launched by the Nonviolent Radial Party Transational and Transparty for the common transition towards the rule of law, as defined by the 67th UNGA Declaration of 24 September 2012, through the recognition of the right to know and the right to freedom of expression.”
