Wednesday 21 February GCRL President Giulio Terzi took part in the demonstration #SOSVenezuela held in front of the Italian Parliament to show support and friendship to the Venezuelan people and to demand that the deteriorating situation in the South American country be urgently addressed by the Italian authorities. President Terzi was joined by Secretary General Matteo Angioli and by the Representative of the Nonviolent Radical Party at the UN Laura Harth.
While fundamental human rights are increasingly abused and opposition figures are put in jail or forces to live in exile, like the former Mayor of Caracas Antonio Ledezma, humanitarian corridors are needed in order to assist large segments of the population affected by hunger and poor health conditions due to the conduct of President Maduro.
